First Birthday

Wow, can you believe that it has been a whole year since Ansley arrived?!? We are amazed at how fast time flies. However, we are truly grateful for the wonderful year that we have had and look forward to many, many more.

We celebrated Ansley's birthday by having her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins over to her house for lunch and of course cake. Most of them were able to make it, but a few were under the weather and they were missed. Ansley had a blast playing with all of her cousins. She definitely could not complain about being bored because she had a lot of playmates. It was all we could do to keep her awake through cake time. She enjoyed mushing the icing around in her fingers and some of it even ended up on her head, but we don't think any of it really made it into her mouth.

Ansley took a couple of steps on her own towards daddy and mommy the day before her birthday, but she still doesn't quit have the confidence to realize she could do it all by her herself. She still enjoys cruising along the furniture, holding mommy's hand, or her new push toy. We know it will be any day now and she will keep mommy on the go constantly. Thank you to everyone for such a great year!!!

(Due to technical difficulty, the pictures are at the top this time. I tried to fix it about five or six times and I give up. At least you can see them.)

Finally an update....

All I am going to say is here is an update. Thankfully Anthony's dad is doing really well and is continuing to recover. The past couple of months have been pretty busy, but I will do my best to summarize. Well, with the beginning of fall comes football season, so our Saturdays have been busy either heading to Athens or at the very least cheering the Dawgs from home.

Ansley has made our lives a little more active by learning to crawl and she is cruising all around the house (as long as she has something to hold on to). It won't be long before our lives change for good and she is able to walk (or should I say run) all on her own. She has been able to spend time with both sets of grandparents because they have been gracious enough to babysit for us on several occasions. Even long enough for us to enjoy our first overnight trip away from the baby girl, so mom and dad could go to the mountains. I will admit that both mom and Ansley did really well.

Halloween was just a couples days ago and our little one was an adorable little puppy dog. We went to our neighborhood clubhouse and met up with many of the other kids to parade around the circle showing off our costumes to all. Ansley loved seeing all of the other kids and "playing" with them on the playground. Of course, the other kids liked petting her and one little girl even wanted to know if she was a "real puppy?" Hope you enjoy the pictures of our sweet puppy Ansley.

More family time

As I have said before, sorry it has been a while since we have updated our blog. We have had quite a bit going on lately. Anthony's dad will be having heart surgery this Friday. We had many of his family members staying with us last week while the doctors were running all of their tests to determine exactly what was going on and what needed to be done. They will be joining us again later this week since his surgery is this Friday. Please pray for healing and strength for the entire family.

In regards to updates on Ansley. She hasn't started crawling yet, but is perfecting scooting around on her booty to get where she wants to be going and into a lot of new things. She is also a big fan of Gerber puffs these days - the ones she likes so far are banana flavored and melt in her mouth. The last update is that she even pulled herself up to a standing position on our rocking chair the other day. I realize that I need to prepare myself for the fun of chasing her around the house from now on. Sorry for not including a picture - I will make sure to include a lot next time.

Beach Trip

Ansley took her first trip to the ocean this summer. We had a great time with Anthony's family in Daytona Beach and Ansley had a blast playing with her seven cousins. She even had a surprise visit by some of Christina's family from south Florida. Anthony and I were able to get away one night for dinner to celebrate the big one, my 30th birthday. Ansley especially enjoyed walking around the kiddie pool with her float and riding on mom or dad's raft in the lazy river. We think we kept the sand eating to a minimum, although it wasn't easy with her brand new teeth. She's already asking when we can go back...

Fourth of July

Okay, I know it has been way too long since I last updated this site. I promise to do a better job going forward. We had a great Fourth of July. Ansley had her grandma and papa come to visit her. We went to Marietta Square to see the carnival and crafts that they had. Then we came home and spent some time at one of our favorite places - the pool. We were able to "somewhat" see the fireworks downtown from our driveway and we watched them on TV. Amazing Ansley was able to sleep through the fireworks being shot in our neighborhood. All in all it was a good first Fourth of July for her.

First Father's Day

Well as you can tell from the title, we celebrated our first Father's Day. We went to church, had a wonderful lunch, daddy and Ansley napped, and then we went to the pool. Ansley absolutely loves the water and would probably stay in all day if we let her. Here's a few pictures to see how much she enjoys it. Hope everyone else had a wonderful Father's Day as well.

The first attempt at blogging was successful so I thought we should try this again. We would have posted again sooner, but we have had a very busy week. We went to the zoo with our friend Hudson and his mom, had a play date with our friend Emily, and ate lunch with mommy's friend Rebecca as well as her old friends at SunTrust.
